Deterioration of Ascaridol in Oil of Chenopodium

چکیده
Before the advent of carbon tetrachloride and tetrachlorethylene, oil of chenopodium was largely used in the treatment of hookworm infection all over the world. Though the oil was made official in the U.S.A. Pharmacopoeia long ago, it was not until 1932 that it found its place in the British Pharmacopoeia. According to the Pharmacopoeias of both the countries, the oil should contain not less than 65 per cent w/w of ascaridol, and should be kept protected from light and stored in a cool place.
